Babar Moghal has over 10 years’ global experience enabling companies to streamline and optimize the way energy is consumed and conserved.

Over the past decade Babar has had the privilege to represent leaders in Power Transmission, Distribution and Energy Management including Siemens, Schneider Electric and Finning Canada, the largest Caterpillar Dealer in Canada. Babar’s energy management experience spans Oil & Gas, Large Industrial, Commercial, Residential and Critical Power consumers.

Babar has a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University; is a registered Professional Engineer with APEGA and a Certified Energy Manager with AEE. As Vice President of AEE Alberta Chapter, Babar is committed to serve as a voice for sustainable development while balancing environmental and social responsibility.

Erin Dewar P.Eng., CEM, LEED® AP


Joshua Ulliac works as a consultant throughout North America providing electrical and mechanical design solutions and construction support for industrial facilities. He has worked on industrial control systems, facility emergency system design, power distribution & protection, and building management systems. 

Josh completed a Masters degree in Energy Systems in Electrical Engineering from the University of Alberta, with a focus on renewable energy systems, power system distribution and protection, and energy management and auditing. Josh also completed a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Alberta. 

Currently a mechanical engineer with the Engineering and Energy Services group with the City of Calgary, Erin works with a multi-disciplinary team that provides engineering technical support, energy management, and acts as a sustainable building resource for new and existing City buildings. 

Prior to this Erin was a Project Manager with a mechanical and electrical consulting firm, focussing on energy efficiency and sustainable design.

Erin is a Professional Engineer, Certified Energy Manager, LEED AP certified, and has a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Alberta.

Afure is the founder and current president of AEEAC. Over the course of her career, she has contributed significantly to various  industry associations including CAPP, PTAC, APEGA, NPRI Multi stakeholder working group and COSIA.

Afure brings over 12 years experience in the field of Energy, Sustainability and Environmental services. She currently works as the principal consultant, Environmental, Regulatory and Energy Division at MICONE consulting Inc.

She is a Certified Energy Manager and a Certified Environmental Professional. Afure has a Masters degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University and a Bachelors degree in Industrial Chemistry and Chemical Engineering.

Waiel Hasan, M.Sc., P.Eng.,is currently owner and Principal Engineer at KemProServ providing process engineering consulting services to EPCs in Canada.

He has over 40 years’ experience in Petroleum Refining, Gas Processing and Pipeline Steady State / Transient Hydraulics.Waiel has over 5 years’ experience in preparing and instructing Training Courses for oil field and refinery operators in the Middle East,

Waiel is presently Training and Certification director at the Association of Energy Engineers - Alberta Chapter (AEEAC).

Mark Terpstra has over 5 years of experience in the commercial building industry with a focus on building design, automation, and energy use.  

Mark is currently with WSP Canada in the Sustainable Buildings group with a focus on new and existing building commissioning and energy audits. Additionally, Mark brings experience from the building automation field to the assessments and upgrade design and management.  

Mark has a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in Energy and Environment. He is a Certified Energy Manager and has LEED AP O+M certification.

Payam Esmaili is an Energy Engineer (CEM, MASc, EIT) with more than 5 years of diverse experience in Building Energy Audits, Energy Modeling, Retro Commission, Functional Testing, Renewable Energy design and feasibility studies (solar –wind hybrid, fuel cells, hydrogen etc.), Energy Performance Contracting, Energy Conservation, Greenhouse Gas Mitigation, Energy Management, Commissioning and Sustainability.

Payam has published several articles in the International Journal of Hydrogen Energy and The Journal of Energy and Buildings.

Payam is currently working at WSP Canada as part of the sustainable building team.
